What's happened since leaving Central

I worked in a variety of positions, mostly in the business side of healthcare. Before retiring in 2009, my last position was CFO of the American Board of Internal Medicine ('ABIM') ABIM is a 75+ year old non profit organization which provides Board Certification to physicians who practice internal medicine and its subspecialties.

School Story:

I have a funny memory of Mr. Kidney, a Latin teacher. He taught a class in the basement, and was a creature of habit. Every day, his routine was exactly the same - walk across the back of the room, go to his metal locker, open it, take out his class materials, walk to his desk, and begin reading the lesson - including the punctuation marks.
One day, a few members of the class decided to 'prank' him - they picked up and moved his locker outside the window.
Without missing a beat, he instructed a couple of the class members to get the locker and put it back. They did, and he proceeded with his normal routine as if nothing at all had happened.

We hung out a little towards the end of HS - it's been a long time.

I won't be going to the reunion, but thought I'd at least drop a note wishing you and
Fran well....

Remember me? You and I knew each other a bit in high school and then connected later for a while as young adults.

I hope you and your family are well.

I too have been touched by the comments and memories of Lee.

It occurs to me that perhaps our class could concieve of some more lasting memory of him, to be dedicated at Central at the time and on the occasion of our reunion.  It could serve as a lasting reminder to treat others compassionately.

In some small way, then, his tragic death would not have been in vain.

Can anyone offer ideas?

We were mildly acquainted at Central - I wanted to thank you for the great work you've done constructing this website; I find it amazing the communication that has been enabled by the internet, and wonder how much better I might have done keeping in touch with my fellow classmates has it been around 50 years ago....

Hi Alan - I don't think we knew each other very well, but I'm writing because I too live in Society Hill - I hope life is as good for you as for me. Maybe I'll see you at the reunion.

I don't know that you'll remember but I moved to Tampa (Lacewood Rd. in Carrollwood) from 1977-79; I'm long since back in Philly. I hope you and your family are well...
